Listen To My Heart
While he might not be a household name, David Friedman's music has more than likely been heard by most people in America. This touching ballad, made famous by cabaret legend Nancy LaMott, is simple and lovely in both melody and lyric. The arrangement starts with a short female/male duet, highlighted with a soprano sax countermelody. It contains a 30 second acapella 'madrigal' section for the bridge in which the choir splits into 8 parts, really showing off the musical skill of your group. It leads to a climactic final chorus, followed by a subtle denouement.
Instrumentation: Piano/Synth/Bass/Drums/Percussion/Vibraphone/2 Tpt/2 Tbn/Soprano, Alto, Tenor Sax
