The American Dream

This complete show tells the story of Marian Kelly, a fictional Irish immigrant who came to America in the 1930’s. It is a story of perseverance in the face of struggle, remembering our past, honoring our ancestors, and building a new life in the USA. It features a broad array of musical genres, including Riverdance-inspired Irish reels, Jazz Age big band, musical theater, and a heartwrenching ballad. The character of Marian's granddaughter is featured throughout the show as a soloist, and there are also opportunities for three male vocal soloists and two additional female soloists. Composed by Ben Wexler, winner of 2019’s Jonathan Larson Award for musical theater writing.
