The Road Less Traveled
Inspired by the famous Robert Frost poem "The Road Not Taken", this ballad describes the experience of charting one's own course in life instead of following the crowd. Right or wrong, our choices define our unique life experience, and we can never go back and explore the other path. The piece begins with a treble soloist and unravels exquisitely through a variety of choral textures including a short a cappella section.

Here along The road less traveled There's no one else to guide my step To follow or to lead The solitude surrounds me like The petals of a rose My heart is open Fully exposed Here along The road less traveled It's easier to stumble So much harder to proceed There are obstacles at every turn Lessons that are hard to learn A happy ending's never guaranteed And it takes a little longer To find my way The final destination Is hidden from my view Yet my heart is growing stronger Each passing day Telling me to keep on moving ahead Sometimes I wonder How my life would look today If I went the other way in the wood How I wanted to explore the other path But I knew I never could I had to make a final choice That much I understood And right or wrong This road unravels There is no turning back I will carry on this crusade And right or wrong, one thing I know for sure What a difference that choice has made What a difference in my life!
