Written with the help and guidance of the brand new Sioux Falls Jefferson High School choir, this piece was designed to be a senior send-off song/alumni tradition for end-of-the-year concerts and graduation ceremonies. The music has an epic world-music vibe, combining soaring strings, triumphant brass, and authentic aux percussion to create the optimism and strength needed to balance the sadness of saying goodbye. The second verse was designed to double as a pre-competition pump-up song, and its countermelody comes back in the final chorus sung by a descant of seniors. Start a fresh new tradition at your school and send your seniors off into the world with confidence and hope, knowing they will always have a place they belong to return to.
